Some Residents Take Hard Look At NL Tax Rate
Christian Driscoll, who owns Driscoll-Tradewinds Realty, says it’s reasonable to suggest the high number of homes on the market is connected to the city’s financial woes and the proposed tax hike.
“Typically, there are about 50 single-family homes active on the market in New London at this time of year,” Driscoll said. “Right now there are 67. A lot of people are saying, ‘The market’s high right now. Let’s take advantage of it.’ And the tax increase would be the last factor they’d need to make the jump.”
